Chutney.. South-Indian cuisine is incomplete without them. Wheter it's Idli, dosa, pongal or even rice, chutnies are relished with all. After sharing the recipes of Spicy Red Chutney,Aam Ki Chutney,Coconut Chutney,Tamatar Ki Chutney,Pudina Chutney,Brinjal Chutney,Dahi Ki Chutney, we are here with Peanut Chutney also known as palli chutney. Traditionally this chutney is served with akki roti. This healthy chutney is an oil-free recipe and is easy to make and is protein-packed. INGREDIENTS:
- Peanuts- 1 cup
- Coconut- 1/2 cup (Cleaned, washed and finely chopped)
- Garlic cloves- 4-5 nos
- Salt- to taste
- Green chillies- 2 nos (more or less according to your taste
- Fried gram- 1/2 cup
- Water- as required
PROCEDURE:
- Take a pan and add peanuts to it. Roast them on a low flame.
- Once the peanuts starts to crackle and gets slight brown spots on it. Switch off the flame and let it cool completely.
- Once it cools down, rub it with the help of your palms and remove the skin, seperate the nuts from the skin.
- Add the roasted and peeled peanuts to a mixer jar along with coconut,green chillies and garlic.
- Grind it for a min until everything in ground to a powder.
- Now add salt and fried gram and grind it again.
- Now add some water to it. You may add more or less depending on the consistency you prefer. I prefer a thicker chutney so I add less water.
- Grind again for a min.
- You can even add a tempering if you prefer. Traditionally,this chutney is served without a tempering.
- Peanut Chutney is ready, serve along with hot akki roti.
