INGREDIENTS:
*Grated Coconut- 1 cup
*Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
*Green Chilies- 2 nos
*Garlic pods- 3 nos
*Gram dal- 1/2 cup
*Tamarind pulp- 1 tbsp
*Salt- to taste
*Curry leaves- 1 sprig
*Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
*Cooking oil- 2 tsp
PROCEDURE:
*Roast gram dal until crisp.
*Don't let it turn brown, remove it in a plate and allow it to cool
*Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Allow it to crackle.
*Keep it aside.
*Take the small jar of your mixer, add all the ingredients and grind roughly.
*Now add required water and the prepared tempering.
*Grind it into a smooth chutney.
*Check for seasoning before removing it in a bowl.
*Add more salt and chilli if required.
*Your Hotel style Chutney is ready.
*Pair it with pongal, upma, Hot idlis.
*It tastes fantastic with almost anything.
*Do try it. Leftover chutney can be frozen for upto 7 days. Just take care to remove it from the freezer 1 hour before serving.
