Ingredients:
Onion- 2 nos (finely chopped)
Tomatoes- 1 no (finely chopped)
Salt- to taste
Jeera powder- 1/2 tsp
Chopped green chilli- according to your spice level (optional, you can even skip it when serving ut to kids)
Garlic powder- 1 tsp
Sugar- 1 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves- 2 tbsp
Grated carrot (optional)
Puffed rice / Murmura- 1 cup
Procedure:
Take chopped onion and chopped tomato in a bowl. Make sure that the the veggies are chopped finely.
Now add all the spices and chopped coriander leaves to the chopped veggies.
Mix well and check for seasoning. Add more salt and spice if required. Most people wonder why sugar is added when we want spicy bhel puri?? The reason behind it is that the sugar balances the sourness of the tomatoes making ut absorb the spicy flavour.
Another tip I would like to share is that after making the masala at this stage you can take out the masala needed and make bhel puri. In simpler terms, Make bhel Puri as much required and keep the extra masala as you can mix murmura when required. This will prevent the murmura from getting soggy.
