Chicken Sheekh Kabab | Sheekh Kabab Recipe Without Grill

A dish which needs no introduction, the desi goodness... Chicken Sheekh Kabab Recipe. Tender meat is flavoured with spices and aromatics, later put on skewers and shallow fried on tawas till crisp and yummy. The authentic recipe is made in a grill or tandoor, but using this process you can make it in your good old tawa and relish tasty sheekh at home. INGREDIENTS:

  • Chicken Mince- 500 gms
  • Boiled potatoes- 2 nos (for binding)
  • Salt- to taste
  • Red chilli powder- 2 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
  • Finely Chopped onion- 2 nos
  • Chaat masala- 1 tsp
  • Mutton Masala- 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice- 2 tbsp
  • Onion powder- 1 tsp
  • Cornflour- 1/2 cup
  • Oil- for shallow frying

PROCEDURE:

  • Take chicken mince, boiled and mashed potatoes, salt and red chili powder in a blender jar. Blend it until it gets a thick and fine consistency. Most people complain of dry and flavourless sheekhs.. Well the secret to a perfectly moist and flavourful sheekh is adding a potato to the sheekh mix along with spices, potato will help in binding as well as doesn't let the sheekh dry out while cooking.

  • Now take it in a large mixing bowl, add chopped coriander leaves, cornflour and spice powders. Mix well.

  • Now add chopped onion to it and mix well. Make sure that the onion is chopped finely, otherwise it may break the sheekh while shaping or frying.

  • Knead the dough well using some oil. Now take a skewer and shape the dough on it. Make sure to apply oil while shaping to get perfect shape. If the sheekh do not hold shape while shaping add cornflour to the dough and mix well anx reshape it.

  • Heat oil in a pan or tawa. Place the sheekh over it.

  • Fry the sheekh till crispy and golden.

  • Your Chicken Sheekh on Tawa is ready. Serve hot right away along with onion rings and lemon wedges.
