Homemade Raisins | How to make homemade raisins

Raisins are dried grapes. You can your own grapes easily at home during the summer season. Once dried, they look similar to raisins and taste better than the store-bought ones. You can store them in an air-tight container. Check out the recipe below and make sure to try them out this summer.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Green Grapes- 500 gms

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash the grapes and strain them in a colander.
  • Place the grapes in an idli steamer, I'm using the same idli plates and placing 2-3 grapes in each cavity.
  • Steam them for 5 mins on medium flame.
  • The grapes will fluff up and release water after steaming.
  • Remove them and place them in a clean cloth and let them dry on the kitchen countertop.
  • You can even dry them under sunlight.
  • I prefer drying them in the kitchen itself. The grapes take around 2-3 days to dry.
  • Once dry and firm, store them in an air-tight container. Homemade raisins are ready.
