Raisins are dried grapes. You can your own grapes easily at home during the summer season. Once dried, they look similar to raisins and taste better than the store-bought ones. You can store them in an air-tight container. Check out the recipe below and make sure to try them out this summer.
INGREDIENTS:
- Green Grapes- 500 gms
PROCEDURE:
- Wash the grapes and strain them in a colander.
- Place the grapes in an idli steamer, I'm using the same idli plates and placing 2-3 grapes in each cavity.
- Steam them for 5 mins on medium flame.
- The grapes will fluff up and release water after steaming.
- Remove them and place them in a clean cloth and let them dry on the kitchen countertop.
- You can even dry them under sunlight.
- I prefer drying them in the kitchen itself. The grapes take around 2-3 days to dry.
- Once dry and firm, store them in an air-tight container. Homemade raisins are ready.
