Kadhai Gosht | Kadhai Mutton dry

INGREDIENTS:

For Cooking the Mutton:

  • Mutton- 500 gms (boneless)
  • Salt- to taste
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • Curd- 1 cup

For Dry gravy:

  • Oil- 2 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
  • Tomatoes- 1 cup (chopped)
  • Salt- to taste
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Chilli flakes- 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Crushed jeera- 1 tsp
  • Kasuri methi- 1 tsp (crushed)
  • Juice of 1 lemon

PROCEDURE:

  • Take a pressure cooker, add washed mutton, salt, ginger garlic paste and curd to it. Mix well and cover and cook for 3 whistles.
  • Let the pressure release naturally, Check if the mutton is tender or else cook for another 2 whistles.
  • Separate the mutton from the stock and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai, add ginger garlic paste and fry for a min.
  • Now add cooked mutton and saute for 5 mins.Add half of the stock at this stage.
  • Now add tomatoes to it and cook it along with some salt.
  • Once the tomatoes are soft , add all the spices to it. Mix gently.
  • Add crushed kasuri methi and mix.
  • Check for seasoning and add more salt and pepper if required.
  • Lastly, add lemon juice and mix well. Switch off the flame.
  • Restaurant-style Kadhai gosht is ready. Serve hot along with ghee rice and dal fry.
