A creamy and rich north indian curry recipe prepared from paneer cubes
and green peas. Can be served with roti, kulchas and even plain rice. Try this recipe

INGREDIENTS:
For the Masala paste:
*Oil- 1 tbsp
*Jeera- 1 tsp
*Green cardamom- 2 nos
*Dalchini- 1’’ 2 sticks
*Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
*Cashewnuts- 10-12 nos
*Garlic cloves- 10-12 nos
*Onion- 1 nos (sliced)
*Tomatoes- 2 nos (roughly chopped)
*Green chilies- 2 nos
*Coriander leaves- 1 cup
*Mint leaves- 1 cup
Other Ingredients:
*Fresh paneer- 200 gms (cut into cubes)
*Green peas- 1 cup (fresh or frozen)
*Potatoes- 1 nos (large, cubed)
*Onion- 1 nos (finely chopped)
*Oil- 2 tbsp
*Garam masala powder- ¼ tsp
*salt- to taste
Red chili powder- 1 tsp
*Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
*Kasuri methi- 1 tsp (crushed)
PROCEDURE:
For Masala paste:
*Heat oil in a pan. Add whole spices and allow to splutter.
*Now add cashewnuts, garlic pods, green chilies and fry till the
cashews and garlic turn light golden.
*Now add onion and tomatoes and some salt and saute well.
*Now add coriander leaves, mint leaves, mix well.
*Switch off the the flame and let it cool down.
*Take it in a mixer jar and grind it smoothly.
*Flavorful masala paste is ready. Set this aside.
*Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
*Add chopped onions and fry for 2 mins.
*Now add ginger garlic paste and red chili powder and saute well.
*Add green peas and potatoes and some salt. Fry for a few minutes.
*Now add the masala paste and mix well.
*Add water to adjust the consistency.
*Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
*Remove the gravy in a kadhai.
*Allow it to come to a boil and check for seasoning.
*Lower the flame and add the paneer cubes.
*Add garam masala powder and sprinkle coriander seeds.
*Mix gently and simmer for 5 minutes.
*Serve hot with Butter kulchas.
TIPS:
*Usually in paneer dishes, paneer is shallow fried before adding to the
gravy. But the paneer pieces won’t be
tender and juicy and it will turn dense.
*So, the best and the tastier option is to cook the paneer on low flame
without frying.
