ALOO KHEEMA

 

Aloo Kheema is not a dish, it's an emotion. Perfect side-dish to your rotis. Aloo kheema has many memories of special occasions like Eid breakfast, and many more. Try this recipe and let me know in the comments how it turned out.

 


INGREDIENTS:

*Lamb mince- 250 gms (washed and drained)

*Potatoes- 250 gms (peeled, cut into cubes, washed and drained)

*Onion- 1 (large, chopped)

*Tomatoes- 4 nos (washed and pureed)

*Coconut paste- 2 tbsp

*Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp

*Chili powder- 1 tsp

*Salt- to taste

*Dhaniya powder- ½ tsp

*Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp

*Garam masala- ¼ tsp

*Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)

*Cooking oil- 2 tbsp

 

PROCEDURE:

*Heat oil in a pressure cooker.

*When oil is hot, add onions and saute well till translucent.

*Add ginger-garlic paste and fry.

*Now add red chili powder.

*Saute again and add washed kheema to it.

*Now saute for 2 mins and add salt till it release oil.

*Now add potatoes and saute again.


*Add tomato puree, coconut paste, all the dry spices and mix well.

*Add coriander leaves and mix again.

*Check for seasoning and add salt and chili powder if needed.

*Check the consistency and add water.

*Take care that the gravy should be thick and not watery.

*Pressure cook on high flame for 3 whistles.

*Allow the steam to release naturally.

*Serve hot with kulchas or parathas.
