Aamras is a rich summer delicacy made out of mangoes. this is usually
served and relished with roti or poori, but I love to have it as it is. This dish
has many variations, people add ginger powder, cardamom powder, etc. but
honestly you don’t need such things in aamras, mangoes are just enough for it.
Try this recipe and let me know in the comments how it turned out.
In this recipe I have used two types of mangoes: Malgova and alphonso
mangoes.
Malgova for it's sweet yet comforting taste and Alphonso for it's great
texture. You can alternatively, use any mango of your choice.
INGREDIENTS:
*Malgova mangoes- 1 cup (peeled and chopped)
*Alphonso mangoes- 1 cup (peeled and chopped)
*Sugar- 5 tbsp (You can increase or decrease according to your choice)
PROCEDURE:
*Place all the ingredients in a clean blender jar.
*Puree until you get a chunk- free consistency.
*Remove it in a bowl and refrigerate until use.
*Aamras is ready, serve it along with some roti or pooris.
*You can store this in an airtight container for 1 week in the fridge
section and 6 months in the freezer section.
