FRIED CHICKEN

 

Fried Chicken is one of the versatile side dishes that goes well with almost any dish. From a simple dal chawal or a royal biryani, Parathas or khushka, Fried chicken pairs well with anything and everything. Have a few marinated chicken pieces in the freezer section and voila you’re ready for unexpected guests. Do give it a try.

 


INGREDIENTS:

*Skinless chicken- 750 gms (washed thoroughly)

*Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp

*Salt- 1 tsp

*Red chilli powder- ¾ tsp

*Jeera powder- ½ tsp

*Red food colour- a pinch

*Crushed kasuri methi- ½ tsp

*Garam masala powder- ½ tsp

*Chicken masala- 2 tsp

*Cornflour- 2 tsp

*Lemon juice-  ½ lemon

*Black pepper powder- 1 tsp

*Chaat masala powder- 1 tsp

*Bread crumbs- 2 tbsp

*Oil- for frying

*Suggested garnishing- Lemon wedges and onion rings

 

Preparation time: 15 mins

Marination time: Min- 30 mins   Max- Overnight

Cooking time:15 mins

 

PROCEDURE:

*In a large mixing bowl, add the ingredients for the margination. Mix well.

*Now add the chicken pieces to it and coat well, so that the chicken pieces get evenly coated.

*Now wrap the bowl with cling film and allow it to marinate for desired time, the more the better.

*Now heat oil in a kadhai, the oil should be hot enough.

*Now drop the pieces in the oil one by one.

*If the oil is hot enough the chicken pieces will rise to the surface immediately.

*Fry till done. The flame should be medium.

*Fry all the pieces similarly.

*Serve hot and garnish with lemon wedges and onion rings.
