A winter classic recipe, Methi Paratha. Methi Paratha is a flaky paratha with spices and fresh fenugreek aka methi leaves. Methi leaves are good for health, as it improves heart health, controls diabetes and cholestrol. Then why not use it in our daily diet? Methi parathas taste good as it is, as they are mildly spiced but you can serve it with Cucumber Dip,Cucumber Mint Raita, or any sabzi of your choice. INGREDIENTS:
- Whole wheat flour- 2 cups
- Methi leaves- 1 cup (cleaned, washed and drained)
- Salt- to taste
- Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
- Jeera powder- 1 tsp
- Chaat masala- 1 tsp
- Curd- 200 ml
- Water- as required
- Oil- for kneading the dough, cooking the paratha
PROCEDURE:
- In a large mixing bowl, add wheat flour and all the dry spices. Mix well.
- Now add curd and methi leaves. Mix well until the methi leaves and evenly distributed.
- Now add water as required and make a smooth dough.
- Allow to rest it for some time.
- Take a small portion of the dough and roll out into a semi-thin roti.
- Place it on a hot tawa and cook on both sides.
- Apply oil on both sides and cook till it's crisp and cooked well.
- Methi paratha is ready. Serve right away.
