Gobi Manchurian | Indo- Chinese Street style Gobi Manchurian

 Make street style Indo-Chinese Gobi Manchurian at home with this fool-proof and easy recipe. Gobi manchurian is a perfect party appetizer and is loved with both kids and adults. INGREDIENTS:

For the fried cauliflower:

*Cauliflower- 2 cups (cleaned, washed and drained in a colander)

*Salt- 1 tsp

*Red chilli powder- 1 tsp

*Cornflour- 1/4 cup

*Water- as required to make a thick batter- mostly 1/4 cup

*Red food colour- a drop

*Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp

*Oil- for deep frying


For the Manchurian sauce:

*Oil- 1 tbsp

*Garlic pods- 10-12 nos (finely chopped)

*Coriander stems- 2 tbsp (finely chopped)

*Onion- 1/4 cup (finely chopped)

*Capsicum- 1 no (cut into cubes)

*Soy sauce- 1 tbsp

*Vinegar- 1 tbsp

*Ketchup- 1 tbsp

*Salt- to taste

*Sugar- 1 tsp

*Black pepper powder- 1 tsp

*Red chilli flakes- 1 tsp

*Spring onion- 1 cup (finely chopped)

*Cornflour slurry- 2 tsp cornflour + 1/4 cup water


PROCEDURE:

*Take a large mixing bowl, add cauliflower florets and all the ingredients listed for frying it.

*Mix well and coat each piece with the flavoured batter.

*Meanwhile, heat oil in a kadhai, drop the coated florets in the hot oil.

*Fry the florets while flipping in intervals.

*Fry till it has turned crispy, remove it in a tissue-lined plate.

*Repeat the same process for rest of the cauliflower.

*Set it aside, we'll prepare the sauce for it.

*Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadhai, add chopped garlic to it.

*Saute for a few seconds, now add chopped coriander stems.

*Coriander stems have a herby and fresh flavour, adding stems at this stage makes the manchurian have a slight herby flavour.

*Now add chopped onions and capsicum.

*Saute for a min, the veggies will be crispy in manchurian, so we'll saute it for a min only.

*Now add all the sauces and spices to it.

*Add the cornflour slurry to it, and mix well and the sauce thickens beautifully.

*Add sugar at this stage, sugar balances the gravy and makes it taste heavenly.

*Now add the fried gobi to it and mix gently so that the masala is coated evenly.

*Switch off the flame, sprinkle spring onions on it.

*Serve right away along with Hakka noodles. Enjoyy!
