We all have had Butter Kulchas, garlic Kulchas and many much more... All of them are made using refined flour. Kulchas made using these are definitely tasty, but lack in fibre content and may upset your stomach. And many of us who are diet-conscious may not prefer food made using refined flour. So here you are an exclusive fail-proof recipe of Whole-wheat Butter Kulchas. A simple yet easy recipe where-in you need no fancy ingredients or fancy equipment. This recipe is made without the use of yeast. A smooth and soft dough, rolled out and cooked over a hot tawa with butter drizzled over it and made crispy. Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour- 2 cups
Salt- to taste
Curd- 1 cup
Water- as required
Baking powder- 1 tsp
Oil- to knead
Butter- to cook the kulchas
Sesame seeds- as required
Fresh coriander leaves- as required
Procedure:
In a large mixing bowl, take wheat flour, baking powder and salt. Mix everything together.
Add curd to the dry mix and knead it till it starts holding shape.
Now add water as required to knead a smooth and soft dough. Apply oil and knead it well. Cover and let it rest for atleast an hour.
Take a small ball of dough and knead it well to form a neat round shape. Now sprinkle some sesame seeds and a little bit if coriander leaves over it. Press it a bit so that it doesn't fall off.
Now sprinkle some dry flour over it and roll out into a thin roti .
Place the rolled kulcha on a hot tawa and let it cook on one side for 30-40 secs.
Flip it over and cook it on both sides. Apply butter on both sides and cook till it gets a soft yet crispy texture.
There you go, soft, crispy and buttery Kulchas are ready. Serve it right away along with Palak paneer or Butter Chicken or gravy of your choice.
