Tamarind Chutney Recipe | Meethi Imli Ki Chutney

INGREDIENTS:

  • Tamarind- 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery- 1/2 cup
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp
  • Jeera powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp

PROCEDURE:

  • Wash and soak the tamarind in cup of water.

    Once the tamarind is soft, squeeze out the pulp.
  • Drain it in a colander, add some water to it.
  • Take the tamarind pulp in a vessel, add gud to it and mix well.

  • Now add red chilli powder, salt and jeera powder to it.

  • Allow it to come to a boil. Let it boil till it reduces to half.
  • Now check for seasoning and add more jaggery if needed. We need it to be sweet in order to balance out the sourness.
  • Let it reduce to half and at this stage, it has thickened.
  • Your all-purpose meethi gud imli ki chutney is ready.
