Appe Recipe | Dosa Batter Appe | Paniyaram Recipe | Masala Appe

A traditional South-Indian snack recipe authentically made with an instant sooji batter, while today I'll be showing the recipe of appe using Dosa batter. These savory balls are slightly crispy from outside while soft and flavorful on the inside. The variations in this recipe are hundreds, you can even stuff masala in it too. Try this recipe I'm sure you'll love it.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Dosa Batter- 2 cups
  • Salt- 1/2 tsp
  • Onion- 1 (large, finely chopped)
  • Grated carrot- 1 tbsp
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Oil- to cook the appe

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Appe pan

PROCEDURE:

  • In a large mixing bowl, add onions, carrot, coriander, salt and chilli powder. Mix well.
  • Now pour the dosa batter in it and mix well.
  • Heat the appe pan, grease it well with oil.
  • Now with the help of a spoon, pour the batter in the cavities and drizzle some oil on it.
  • Let it get crispy, now flip it gently with the help of a spoon.
  • Let it cook evenly on both sides.
  • Simmer it for 2 mins.
  • Appe is ready serve hot along with Coconut Chutney.
