Nookal gosht salan

This mutton gravy is a comforting dish whicn i've been eating since childhood. If you have frozen coconut paste handy, you can make this easy and tasty mutton gravy within 1/2 hour. The best part of this delicious gravy is that it tastes equally good with roti as well as rice. Try this sehri special gravy and you can make sure your fussy children will lick their plates clean. INGREDIENTS:
*Mutton- 500 gms
*Nukal (turnip)- 250 gms (chopped)
*Onion- 2 nos (medium sized, finely chopped)
*Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp
*Cooking oil- 1 tbsp
*Tomatoes- 5 (large, blended into a puree)
*Coconut paste- 1 tbsp
*Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp (chopped)
*Salt-to taste
*Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
*Corainder powder- 1 tsp
*Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
*Garam masala powder- 1/4 tsp

PROCEDURE:
*Heat a pressure cooker on medium high flame, add oil to it.
*Add chopped onions and fry till translucent.
*Add ginger-garlic paste and fry till raw smell has gone.
*Now add washed mutton and salt and saute for 2 mins.
*Now add chopped turnip, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and saute well.
*Now add tomato puree and mix again.
*Add coconut paste and mix well.
*Add water to get your desired consistency, make sure it's not too runny, because mutton gravies are usually delicious when thick.
*Taste the gravy and add more spices and salt if required.
*Cover the lid and cook for 3 whistles on medium heat.
*Allow the pressure to release naturally.
*Check if the mutton is tender or else cook for another 2 whistles.
*Add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
