This is what we've been craving this ramadan, The classic aloo tikki. Who doesnt love it??? Try this classic street style snack for your iftar and let us know in the comments how it turned out.
*2 medium sized potatoes- boiled, peeled, mashed
*1 tbsp coriander leaves- finely chopped
*1/4th cup grated carrot
*1 tbsp mint leaves- finely chopped
*3 tbsp rice flour
*3 tbsp besan flour
* Salt- as needed
*1 tbsp chilli flakes
*1 tsp jeera powder
*2 tsp chaat masala
For Coating:
*1 cup breadcrumbs
For Frying:
*1 tbsp oil
PROCEDURE:
*Take a large mixing bowl, add potatoes (boiled and mashed)
*Now add peas and grated carrot.
*Now add all the dry spices.
*Then add mint leaves and coriander leaves.
*Mix well.
*Now add rice flour and besan and mix well.
*Now shape it into cutlets and coat it with breadcrumbs.
*Shallow fry on a medium flame, alternatively you can deep fry them. But I personally prefer shallow fried cutlets as they are way more healthier.
*Paired with mint chutney and some ketchup makes for an excellent evening snack. Try this recipe and do comment. I would love to hear from you
