KADHAI ALOO

 

Extending the lunch-box series even more with easy aloo roti dishes. Easy kadhai aloo can be served with roti and even tastes amazing with plain rice and ghee. Try this tasty recipe and let me know in the comments how it turned out.

 


INGREDIENTS:

*Oil- 1 tbsp

*Jeera- ¼ tsp

*Saunf- ¼ tsp

*Tej patta- 1 nos

*Onions- 2 nos (medium sized, finely chopped)

*Salt- to taste

*Potatoes- 4 nos (medium sized, and halved and sliced into 1 cm thick slices)

*Salt- to taste

*Tomatoes- 2 nos (medium sized, finely chopped)

*Kasuri methi- 1 tsp (crushed)

*Jeera powder- 1 tsp

*Coriander powder- 1 tsp

*Maggi masala- 1 tsp

*Red chili powder- 1 tsp

*Chopped coriander leaves- 1 tbsp

 


PROCEDURE:

*Heat oil in a pressure cooker.

*Add jeera, saunf and tej patta and let it splutter.

*Now add onions and salt and saute till translucent.

*Now add potatoes and fry for 2 mins.

*Add chopped tomatoes and fry till it turns slightly mushy.

*And rest of the ingredients and mix well.

*Add ½ cup water and close the lid and cook on high flame for 1 whistle.

*Let the pressure release naturally.

*Check for seasoning and add salt and red chili powder if needed.

*Evaporate excess water.

*Serve hot with roti or plain rice with ghee.
