MUTTON PHAAL GRAVY

 

A tasty yet easy recipe, this is perfect for your unexpected guests. I’ve been eating this gravy since my childhood. Whether it's a Friday lunch or for guests or even during bakrid, this gravy is one of the best options out there. INGREDIENTS:

*Mutton- 500 gms

*Oil- 1 tbsp

*Onion- 1 (large, finely chopped)
*Tomatoes- 3 nos (large, pureed)

*Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tbsp

*Salt- to taste

*Black pepper powder- 1 tbsp

*Chopped coriander leaves- 1 tbsp

*Juice of ½ lemon

 


PROCEDURE:

*Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add oil.

*Add onion to it and saute till translucent and soft.

*Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.

*Now add washed mutton and salt. Mix well.

*Let it cook in it's own juices and let it get crispy while stirring occasionally.

*Now add tomato puree, black pepper powder, coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well

*Check for seasoning and add salt and pepper if needed.

*Add 1 cup water and close the lid.

*Cook for 4 whistles, then let the pressure release naturally.

*Check if the meat is tender, else pressure cook for another 2 whistles.

*Evaporate excess gravy, as we don’t want a watery gravy.

*Serve hot with roti or parathas.
