TAWA PHAAL

 


My family loves beef, especially kababs and dry phaal varieties. My husband and kids used to eat kabab often to satisfy their taste buds. But now during these pandemic times, I had to cook tasty and new beef recipes to stop them from eating out (Despite being a vegetarian myself)

 

Tawa phall is one of my tried and tested recipe, which my kids literally drool over it. This is a must try recipe for beef lovers.

 

Preparation time: 30 mins

Marination time: Min 1 hour (the more the better)

Cooking time: 45 mins

 

INGREDIENTS:

*Boneless beef slices- 1 kg

*Ginger garlic paste- 1 ½ tbsp.

*Salt- 1 tsp (Adjust according to your taste)

*Red chilli powder- 2 tsp

*Black pepper powder- 2 tsp

*Coriander powder- 1 tsp

*Jeera powder- 1 tsp

*Garam masala powder- ½ tsp

*Chaat masala powder- 1 tsp

*Red food colour- a pinch

*Crushed kasuri methi- 1 tsp

*Chicken masala powder- 3 tsp

*Mutton masala powder- 1 tsp

*Raw papaya paste- 1 tbsp

*Lemon juice- 1 tbsp

*Soya sauce- 1 tbsp

*Bread crumbs- ½ cup

*Oil- for frying

 

PROCEDURE:

*Wash the beef well, drain in a colander.

*Mix all the ingredients except for bread crumbs in a large bowl.

*Marinate the beef slices with the prepared masala paste. Mix well in order to ensure that the masala is equally distributed.

*Add bread crumbs and mix well.

*It will absorb all the excess moisture.

*Arrange the pieces in a large plate and marinate for an hour.

*Take a cast iron pan and shallow fry the pieces till golden brown and crisp.

*These phaal pieces will be equally soft and crispy.

*Serve hot with lemon wedges and onion slices. Best recipe if followed properly is simply irresistible.
