A delicious yet tender and flavourful mutton gravy recipe. We bring to you Spicy mutton masala gravy recipe . A perfect dinner recipe when you have unexpected guests. This recipe requires minimal, easily available ingredients and doesn't require a lot of preparations. You can serve it along with Jeera rice or even roti. Ingredients:
- Mutton- 500 gms (Curry-cut)
- Curd- 500 ml
- Dum Biryani masala- 2 tsp
- Salt- to taste
- Red chilli powder-
- Tomatoes- 2 nos (chopped)
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Onion- 1 no (sliced)
- Chopped mint leaves- 1/2 cup
- Chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
- Vinegar- 1 tbsp
- Slit green chillies- 3-4 nos
Procedure:
- Take mutton in a bowl. Clean it and wash it well and let it drain in a colander.
- Take mutton in a bowl, add curd, biryani masala, salt, red chillies, chopped tomatoes, vinegar, chopped greens and slit green chillies. Mix well and let it marinate.
- Refrigerate it and let it marinate for min. an hour.
- Now add the marinated mutton to a pressure cooker along with 1/2 cup of water.
- Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.
- Check if the mutton is tender or else pressure cook for another 2 whistles.
- Once the mutton is tender, reduce the gravy along with it. We don't want a dry version, but a thicker gravy. You can reduce it accordingly.
- Heat oil in a kadhai, add the sliced onions to it along with 1/2 tsp of salt.
- Caramalise the onions until they reach a nice golden brown colour.
- Now add the cooked mutton gravy to it. Let it come to a boil and then simmer it for 5 mins.
- Let it dum for 5 mins on low flame. Once the oil accumulates on top, you know it's done.
- There you go, Spicy mutton masala gravy is ready. Serve hot.
