Presenting White peas tikki recipe to you. These white peas tikki are full of protein and is packed with flavours and texture. I personally prefer to work more on the flavour of these tikkis and reduce the oil content and try to shallow fry these as you can relish it guilt-free. INGREDIENTS:
- White peas- 2 cups (I've used dried white peas)
- Potato- 2 cups (boiled, peeled and mashed)
- Salt- to taste
- Red chilli flakes- 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
- Chaat masala- 1 tsp
- Onion powder- 1 tsp
- Garlic powder- 1 tsp
- Dried mint powder- 1 tsp
- Chopped coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
- Chopped onions- 1/2 cup
- Roasted and crushed murmura- 1 cup
PROCEDURE:
- Wash the white peas and soak them overnight.
- Add them to a pressure cooker along with a cup of water and a tsp of salt. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until they turn soft.
- Remove them in a mixing bowl, mash the peas finely.
- Now add the mashed potatoes along with chopped coriander and chopped onions.
- Add the spices to it and mix well.
- Now add the crushed murmura to it.
- Mix well and shape it into tikkis.
- Heat oil in a tawa. Place the tikkis and fry till it gets crispy on both sides.
- Crispy white peas tikki is ready, serve right away along with ketchup or green chutney.
