Mango Lassi Recipe

Mango Lassi is an all-time favourite summer drink in India. Takes literally 10 mins to make including prep and blending, and tastes heavenly. It is made with the simplest of ingredients put up together and you can add any additional flavorings of your choice like cardamom or rose water, etc. But I personally prefer the mangoey flavour in my lassi. INGREDIENTS:

  • Sweet thick curd- 2 cups
  • Mangoes- 2 cups (peeled and chopped)
  • Milk- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar- 1 tbsp (more or less according to the sweetness of the mangoes)

PROCEDURE:

  • Take mangoes in a blender jar. Add sugar to it.
  • Blend the mangoes to a fine puree.
  • Now add the curd and milk.
  • Blend it for another 2 mins.
  • Check for sugar and add more if required.
  • Chill it in the fridge or serve it right away.

Tips For The Perfect Mango Lassi:

  • Always use chilled milk and chilled curd. Many use ice cubes while blending for instant chilled lassi, but that'll make your lassi watery. It's better to use chilled milk and curd for thick lassi.
  • Use sweet curd for lassi, I have used homemade thick curd which is not too sweet but not too sour either.
  • You can experiment with flavours and use other fruits too like, banana, strawberry,etc. instead of mango.
