Dried mint leaves is a condiment used in various Indian dishes, whcih gives it a minty flavor. This can be used when fresh mint is not available. You can add this to gravies, pastas or even make Mint ice-cream out of it. I've dried the leaves and used it as it is, Alternatively you can powder it in a jar. Make sure to try this out.
INGREDIENTS:
- Fresh Mint leaves- a bunch
PROCEDURE:
- Pluck the leaves from the stem, and make sure it's all clean.
- Wash the mint leaves thoroughly and drain it in a colander.
- Spread it out on a clean cotton cloth and let it dry for atleast 4-5 hrs.
- You can even dry it under the sun for 6 hrs.
- After it dries on the cloth, place the leaves in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave for 3 minutes on full power.
- You'll notice that it has become crispy.
- Transfer it to an airtight container and this stays fresh in the refrigerator for more than 6 months.
- You can even powder it at this stage, or use it as it is.
