A delicious and flavorful pizza sauce recipe, which is a good alternative to the store-bought sauce. This sauce is tastier and fresher than the store-bought ones. You can adjust spices and herbs according to your preference. Try this recipe and use this sauce for your next pizza night.
INGREDIENTS:
- Tomatoes- 5-6 nos
- Salt- to taste
- Oil- 2 tbsp
- Garlic- 4-5 cloves (finely chopped)
- Oregano- 1 tsp
- Red chilli flakes- 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
- Fresh basil- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
- Mint leaves- 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
PROCEDURE:
- Puree tomatoes roughly, so that it's chunky.
- Heat oil in a pan, add garlic to it and saute for a min.
- Now add the tomato puree to it and let it simmer for 10 mins.
- Let it simmer till the tomato has thickened and all it's raw smell has disappeared.
- Now one by one add all the spices and herbs to it.
- Mix well and check for seasoning and add more salt and spice if required.
- Switch off the flame and let it cool down completely.
- Homemade tomato Pizza sauce is ready.
- You can use it right away or store it for later use. This sauce stays fresh for a month in the refrigerator section and upto 6 months in the freezer section.
- You can alternatively use this sauce in Pasta, maggi and many other Dishes. The variations are endless.
