Makhana namkeen- a delicious snack made with roasted foxnuts, raisins, and peanuts. Makhana serve as a great snack to munch when hungry, it is gluten-free, low in calories and have high content of proteins. An excellent snack for diabetic and heart patients as they contain good fats. This easy recipe can be made in 15 mins and can be easily stored in an air-tight jar for 2-3 weeks. INGREDIENTS:
Foxnuts/Phool Makhana- 2 cups
Ghee- 1 tbsp+ 1 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 sprig
Peanuts- 2 tsp
Raisins- 1 tbsp
Roasted gram dal- 2 tsp
Salt- to taste
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Chaat masala- 1 tsp
PROCEDURE:
Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a kadhai, add phool makhana to it.
Keep stirring in intervals, simmer the flame and allow the makhana to roast in a low flame.
Roast them for at-least 10-12 mins on a low flame, check if they are done.
The indication that they are done is that, they'll break easily and will turn light and crispy.
Remove it in a plate and set aside.
Heat 1 tsp ghee in the same kadhai, add peanuts and gram dal and fry on a low flame, once they turn slightly brown, add raisins and curry leaves.
Let the curry leaves get crispy and raisins get fluffy.
Add salt and turmeric powder to it, mix well.
Immediately add the roasted phool makhana to it and mix well.
Remove from flame and let it cool down.
Now add chaat masala to it and mix well.
After it cools down completely, store it in an airtight container.
