Ramadan has come yet again and with it lots of happiness and joys of
fasting and Of course, the craving for delicious snacks at iftar time. This
vada is filled with proteins and tastes awesome with a simple sauce or can also
be relished dipped in Ramadan ganji. It's easy to make and tastes great. Try

INGREDIENTS:
FOR SOAKING:
*Masoor dal- ¼ cup
*Chana dal- ¼ cup
*Toor dal- ¼ cup
*Moong dal- ¼ cup
FOR THE VADA MIXTURE:
*Onion- 2 large, finely chopped
*Coriander leaves- ½ cup, finely chopped
*Dill leaves- ½ cup, finely chopped
*Mint leaves- 1 tbsp, finely chopped
*Turmeric- ¼ tsp
*Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
*Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
*Green chillies- 1 tbsp, finely chopped
*Salt- to taste
*Cooking oil- for frying
PREPARTION TIME: 20 MINS
SOAKING TIME: MIN. 1 HR, MAX. OVERNIGHT
PROCEDURE:
*In a large mixing bowl, mix all the dal. Wash the dals thoroughly till
water runs clear.
*Soak the dals in enough water, the water should be atleast 2’’ above
the washed dal.
*Let the dal soak.
*Drain the dal in a colander, grind it coarsely, adding salt and
turmeric powder. While grinding the dal, take care not to add any water.
*Remove in a mixing bowl, add onions and the rest of the ingredients.
*Mix well until all the ingredients have combined.
*The texture of the mixture should be coarse.
*Heat oil in a kadhai.
*Shape the vadas and deep fry them in hot oil till golden brown.
*Take care the oil must not be too hot or else the vadas will be brown
outside and raw inside.
*Serve hot with ketchup or Ramadan ganji. You can even enjoy as it is.
