Paneer tikka is a popular veg starter or appetizer recipe. This recipe is originally made in tandoor or clay oven, You can even
make this in a baking oven, but I have made this on tawa. Try this recipe and
let me know how it turned out.
INGREDIENTS:
*Fresh Cottage cheese/ paneer- 200 GMS
*Diced onions- ½ cup
*Diced capsicum- ½ cup
For the margination:
*Yogurt- 200 gms
*Besan- 2 tbsp
*Salt-to taste
*Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
*Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
*Chaat masala- 1 tsp
*Jeera powder- 1 tsp
*Black pepper powder- ½ tsp
*Lemon juice- 1 tbsp
*Garam masala- ½ tsp
*Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
*Mustard oil- 1 tbsp
*Oil- for frying
PROCEDURE:
*Chop the paneer in small cubes.
*Dice the onions and capsicum in 1’’ cubes.
*In a large mixing bowl, add curd and whisk lightly until it becomes
smooth.
*Now add ginger garlic paste, oil and lemon juice.
*Mix well.
*Now add all the spice powders, salt and give it a good stir.
*Check for seasonings and add more if required.
*Now add the veggies and paneer to the marinade and mix gently.
*Cover and marinade for min 1 hour.
*Heat around 1 tbsp oil in a tawa, place the paneer and veggies and fry
them batch by batch until they turn crispy.
*Don’t overcook the paneer as it will turn hard and rubbery.
*Remove from heat, while it's still hot skewer the paneer and veggies
alternatively on a toothpick
*You can even skewer them on a wooden skewer.
