This dessert needs no introduction. It is famous for it's lip smacking
and delectable flavor. It is quite easy to prepare.
INGREDIENTS:
*Full fat milk- 1.5 ltr
*Condensed milk- 1 cup
*Grated mawa- 2 cups
*Almond slivers- 2 tbsp (blanched and peeled)
*Raisins- 2 tbsp
*Ghee- 1 cup
*Green food colour- a pinch
*Freshly grated lauki- 1 cup (strands should be long)
*Sabudana- 1 cup (washed and soaked for 2 hrs)
*Sugar- 3 cups
*Soji- 1 tbsp
*Vanilla essence- ½ tsp
PROCEDURE:
*Boil milk and reduce to 3/4.
*While the milk is reducing, keep the sago/ sabudana to boil, let it
boil for 10 mins, keep aside.
*Keep stirring the milk so that it doesn’t stick to the bottom.
*Add soji and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
*Now add boiled sago and keep stirring for 5 more minute.
*Now add grated lauki.
*Add grated mawa to the milk, keep stirring.
*Now finally add sugar and stir till sugar completely dissolves.
*Add green food colour.
*Mix well and remove from heat. Let it rest for 5 mins.
*Now add ghee and mix well.
*After it cools for about ½ hour.
*Add vanilla essence.
*Add almond slivers and raisins and mix well.
*Tastes best when chilled.
